Welcome to the website of the Belgian Branch of Hontai Yoshin Ryu. Our website is in English but there is a brief explanation in both Dutch  and French .

HONTAI YŌSHIN RYŪ (本體楊心流) is a traditional JŪJUTSU (柔術) school, also incorporating the long staff, the short staff, knife, short sword, long sword and rope bindings. It is a KOBUDŌ (古武道: old BUDŌ) or KORYŪ (古流: old tradition; old school), member of the Nihon Kobudo Kyokai, which is owned by the Nippon Budokan. The school was founded in the 17th century. The main dojo (Sohombu dojo) is located in Nishinomiya, Japan, where INOUE Kyoichi Munenori (井上恭一宗教), the 19th SŌKE (十九代宗家), lives and teaches.

For more information on the school, please visit the official website from the sohombu dojo in Japan (Nishinomiya): www.hontaiyoshinryu.com

In line with the philosophy of our teachers, it is our aim to introduce Japanese culture and to help preserve the tradition and the history of Kobudo.

Training  with us is possible on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in Groot-Bijgaarden and soon in Anderlecht on Wednesday and Friday.

For practical information, contact us at contact@hontaiyoshinryu.be or visit our  News  section.

We also have a "Group", to promote interactive discussions and to keep our students up to date on dojo's activities.(click the icon on this page).
